Susperia is an extreme metal band from Norway, founded in 1998. Starting out in the black and thrash metal genres, the band has expanded its style over time to include more groove and thrash metal elements, creating its own unique style. Susperia is known for its dark, aggressive and melodic style in the Norwegian metal scene.
Members and Their Duties
Susperia’s lineup has changed over time, but the original members and some former members have the following duties:
Athera (Pal Mathieson) – Vocals: Athera, the band’s vocalist, stood out with her charismatic performances and wide vocal range. She has both a harsh vocal style and melodic passages.
Cyrus (Terje Andersen) – Guitar: Cyrus, one of the founding members, is the guitarist who plays an important role in Susperia’s composition process. He is known for writing fast and technical guitar riffs for the band.
Elvorn – Guitar: Joined in 2000, Elvorn is the rhythm guitarist who completes the melodic structure of the band.
Memnock – Bass Guitar: As the bass guitarist of the band, he adds depth to the music with his hard and dynamic bass rhythms.
Tjodalv (Ian Kenneth Åkesson) – Drums: He is the other founding member of Susperia and shaped the band’s sound, especially with his black metal-influenced drum rhythms.
Susperia attracted attention in the metal community with their first album Predominance, and then matured their style with albums such as Vindication, Unlimited, and Attitude.
